Most of these organizations are national and international in scope and use there individual chapters in each organization.
The term fraternity often colloquially shortened as “frats” which refers to all male groups or female groups that predate the term sorority. Gamma Phi Beta was the first such organization to adopt the word sorority which was established in the year 1874 in Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.
Fraternities are busy organizations and fundraising is probably not high on the list of fun and exiting things to do. However with a little bit of effort you can make your money which is needed by your fraternity. The single greatest effort along these lines was the creation of the “National Interfraternity Conference” a century ago, which was intended to minimize conflicts, destructive competition and encourage student members to recognize members of other fraternities as people who share common interests.
The process of joining Fraternity is through “formal recruitment” which most of the times is known as “Rush Week”.
