I`m really amazed to hear the news stories every now & then of how the I.T. industry is one of the few which has managed to stay afloat even during the time of deepening economic crisis. In fact, now I`m seriously considering, to change my career path… & looking to get, some sort of IT certifications. I believe that these certifications will only improve my productivity as a professional & will also go a long way in increasing my appeal to the employers. The key during these times of cut-throat competition is to stay one step ahead of your competition. If someone is very good in a particular field & you feel you have got no chance of competing with him, when there is a job interview then, try to add more value to your already existing skills. That`s what I intend to do. Hopefully, few years down the line when I get one of these it certifications, I will be able to get more in every sense of imagination. However, there is one mental road-block that I need to get rid of as soon as possible. I have always felt that these IT certification training things are pretty hard & someone like me who is from a non-technical background… I feel a bit vulnerable! Hopefully, I would be able to get rid of all these things soon enough.
