If you have not tried the latest version of Microsoft’s operating system, then you are missing out on some of the best ideas Mr. Gates has thought up. When you first open up Windows 7, it might seem like the same old deal with a start button that now looks like a circle and the same icons that have been there since Windows 95. But the truth is, the operating system has been retooled to be more user friendly and it is definitely faster than it has ever been before. It has also managed to do this while lowering its system requirements. If you are still running Windows XP or Vista, you might want to seriously consider switching to 7.
Everything from some of the newest games to practical programs like Microsoft Office will run just a little smoother when you switch to Windows 7. There is now the addition of a task bar and a few other new features that make navigation more efficient. It is now more like Apple’s operating system which is a good thing in my opinion. Even the Microsoft Office training videos will look better when running 7.
Another reason to switch to this new operating system is that there will be a new Microsoft Office coming out soon. Microsoft Office 2010 will be out in a few months and it would be a good idea to switch to Windows 7 before this happens. Installing something like Office 2010 will be an ordeal like it always is so don’t get stuck doing it twice. The beta is also out if you want to learn the basics before the retail version comes out. Because Windows 7 is faster and easier to use, it can save you a lot of time when you are working or just browsing the web in your home office. Things just work and you won’t have to restart every other day like other Windows versions. If you happen to own a touch screen, Windows 7 has support for that as well and it almost eliminates the use for a keyboard and mouse. Whether you want it because it uses less memory or because it just detects USB devices faster, you will not be disappointed when you learn everything about Windows 7.

I have been looking through the different types of recruiting software to see which one looks to be the best for my company. I have been asked to evaluate the different options available to see which would be the best for my company. I love doing this sort of thing as it means that I tend to get sent lots of evaluation software and I can play around with it to see how easy it is to use and what features it has. I also get to go and chat to the people who will be using the software to find out what they think about staffing software and what features they would like to have and how they would like it to work etc. It is a bit different to my normal job and so it makes a nice change and normally I do not get to go and see the other company employees so that is a good change as well especially as I am sociable person and like meeting others. Of course it puts some pressure on me to make sure that I recommend the best piece of software for everyone but I enjoy that sort of challenge.

I am looking for work at the moment and visited my local recruitment agency. I was really impressed with their applicant tracking software. I guess that sounds a bit boring, but as a software programmer myself, I always am interested in different software. What I particularly liked about it was the resume parser. It is interesting that the software really fits the purpose that it is designed for and the users really like it too. That may sound like a silly thing to say, but I am often asked to write software where the end users have not been asked what they would like from it and they just get to use it at the end. If it is replacing something else, they are not asked if they want improvements to be made, features to be added or things to be left out. This is ridiculous to me and I am always keen to promote my ideas of customer orientated design and this staffing CRM software illustrated exactly why this was such a good idea. It has certainly made me feel that keeping this approach to programming is something which will hopefully make me more successful at my job than others who do not have this approach.
